University Library of Central University of Kerala is a home for the largest collection of learning resources on Arts, Humanities, Science and Social Sciences.  The Library supports research and educational endeavours of Students, Research Scholars, and the Faculties of the university by collecting, organizing, preserving and disseminating information and provides instructional programs in all formats through need-based services and enables access to online information resources using modern Information & Communication Technologies.

The Library is started to functioning in October 2009 at Vidyanagar Campus, as a centre of information for the academic community. There were five campuses of libraries functioning at Vidyanagar, Periye (main campus), Padanekkad, Thriruvalla and Thiruvananthapuram (Capital Centre). In 2018 Vidyanagar, Peiye and Padanekkad campuses merged and Central University Libray, Periye (Main Campus) started functioning.   Within a short period of time the library attained a considerable level of development. The very ambience of the Library is appealing and user-friendly and is automated with Wi-Fi network.

The library is automated with KOHA Open Source Integrated Library Management System (ILMS). Library is using Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system to organize the knowledge collection. Library is having good collection of documents on all subjects and total collection of book is around 58,141 and 632 special Braille collections. Library timing is 9 30 am to 10.00 pm. All the students, faculty members and staff are member of University Library. University Library has membership in eShodhSindhu consortium and accessing 17700+ e- journals from them. University Library is individually subscribing to both the Indian and foreign journals. Library is regularly updating the new arrivals of books and journals issues to the students and faculty members. Regular Orientation Programmes are given to the library members.
